When it comes to looking after our bodies, we can often be so concerned with weight and dietary issue that we forget about basic care for our body’s core frame. Spinal health can be a delicate issue and nobody wants to put their skeletal trust in the wrong hands. Stress, bad posture and work habits can all play a part in pushing our bodies in the wrong direction, so it’s important to know who to turn to when it needs to be put back in place.</p>
<p>Along with regular spinal checkups, self car is one of the keys good spinal health. Here are tips for maintaining posture to keep your spine:</p>
<p><strong>When Standing :</strong></p>
<p>Don’t slouch over your work or wear shoes that are hard on your back. Do rest your foot on s stool, occasionally alternating your feet to give your back muscles time to relax. Bend from your knees to reach your work area.</p>
<p><strong>When Sitting :</strong></p>
<p>Don’t bend your neck forward over your work. Do raise your viewing surface to eye level. Sit straight look straight ahead and keep your feet on the floor, or a small foot rest. Use a chair or rolls that support the curves in your back and neck. Take frequent breaks from sitting.</p>
<p><strong>When Sleeping :</strong></p>
<p>Don’t sleep flat on your stomach or use a soft mattress. Do use a firm mattress that conforms to the shape of your body. Sleep on your back, supporting your lower back and neck with pillows under your knees, head and shoulders and rolls under your lower back and neck.</p>
